We are officially homeowners! (Of two homes)

We have closed on Camelot and wasted no time starting work! After a couple of days of hard work on the lawn and a terrible case of Poison Ivy to prove it, I can't believe how much better the front looks! We trimmed up all of the trees and started cutting out the overgrowth in the side and back yard, but still tons more to do! Eventually all of the plants will come out and Hydrangeas will most likely go in, but for now we are moving our focus on the inside.

We accepted an offer on our house and if all goes well we will close on August 28th! That only gives us one month to get this house livable...should I start to panic? Nah, it's just time to call in the calvary! Our 16 year old work horse of a nephew, CJ, has been helping with carpet tear out and anything else! He's been a tremendous help. We are having a gentleman that Sean works with come clean on Saturday and my Dad is coming up on Sunday! With all hands on deck I'm hoping for a major transformation quickly!

Are we crazy?

Some would answer a resounding YES to that question! We have just purchased a bank owned rehab property. Well, technically, our offer has been accepted and we don't close until July 29th! We will be selling our current home and are currently in process of getting it ready to hit the market. We will be going FSBO, but listing on MLS...If you know anyone looking for a great 2 story with a fantastic yard please send them our way.

Current House

I will post a link to the listing once it's up! We've had many friends ask, why would you want to leave your perfectly nice home and move to a dump? (Well, maybe not quite so bluntly!) As much as I like my home I have visions of a beach home with white shaker cabinets and black granite, or maybe soapstone or Carrera marble?

Dream Kitchen

The point being, a house that we can slowly shape into our dream home! It's hard to justify redoing a kitchen on a 2 year old house! This house is such a great deal that we can handle sinking a bit of dough into it, plus it has a huge finished basement that we can send the kids to when they are driving me batty! It's big, it's bad, it's ugly and it's 80's! Follow us on the journey of selling our house while rehabing a new one with 2 little ones and 2 dogs!
